Get answers to common questions about Lips & Chin Waxing.
Most sessions take about 10–20 minutes from start to finish, including consultation and prep. Timing depends on hair amount and sensitivity. Allow extra time for first visits or combined services.
No — waxing removes hair from the root, so regrowth typically appears finer and slower. Repeated waxing often yields softer hair. If you notice thicker or excessive growth, discuss hormonal factors with your esthetician or medical provider for personalized guidance.
Cleanse and gently exfoliate 24–48 hours before your visit, avoid retinoids or strong acids for a week, and skip topical numbing unless advised. Hair should be about 1/4 inch long for best results. Avoid sun exposure and heavy creams on the day.
Some mild stinging or tugging is normal, but experienced estheticians use quick, gentle techniques and high-quality products to reduce discomfort. We offer calming pre-treatments, post-cooling serums, and aftercare advice to soothe sensitive skin and minimize irritation.
Most clients experience smooth results for three to six weeks, depending on individual hair cycles and hormones. With regular waxing, intervals may lengthen and regrowth softens. We can recommend a tailored schedule based on your hair type and desired maintenance.
Topical retinoids and certain acne treatments increase skin sensitivity and risk of damage. Avoid waxing while using strong retinoids for at least one to two weeks prior, or follow your dermatologist’s advice. Inform your esthetician to perform a patch test if necessary.
